Volunteer Position – Occupational Therapists
Do you want to use your skills as an Occupational Therapist to help transform the lives of disabled children in China?
All over China, thousands of infants and children with disabilities are abandoned each year by their families. These children don’t get access to even the most basic therapies that children in western nations routinely receive. You can changes these children’s lives.
Using your skills as an Occupational Therapist, you can have in impact on many of these children. By volunteering with International China Concern (ICC) in China, you will be bringing love, hope and opportunity to China’s abandoned and disabled.
ICC has openings for experienced therapists who are willing to commit a minimum of two years towards developing the lives of children in China.
You will perform assessments, treatments and reviews as part of a multi-disciplinary team of other international volunteers while also working beside and training local staff. The role you will play will be central to the children in our care gaining independence and journeying towards productive and satisfying lives.
You will live and work within an ICC project, sharing life with other international team members. A level of Chinese language is helpful or a commitment to language learning. ICC volunteers working in China are self-funded, however some assistance may be offered with initial support raising.
